Youths in Plateau State have been called upon to participate more in governance so that they would no longer leave governance in the hands of the aged.
The call was made at a town hall meeting tagged, ‘Engaging Youth through the Open Governance and Partnership (OGP)’ in Jos last weekend.

The Chief Technical Advisor Programme, Management and Results Delivery Office of the Governor of Plateau State, Engr. Jafaru Wuyep, said OGP is hinged on four cardinal principles of accountability, transparency, inclusion and the use of technology and innovation.
Wuyep noted that OGP offers a platform for youths to actively engage with the government and that it is therefore highly necessary for youths to be armed with the skills that will enable them to successfully achieve their active participation.
Team Lead, Jos Green Centre, Fwangmun Oscar Danladi, said the meeting promotes youths’ understanding and participation in OGP constructively.
Joseph Aloo, the Deputy Country of Tearfund, an NGO, said the event is the first and only youth-led movement pioneering the deployment of the OGP platform in Nigeria to create the space for constructive engagements with youth.
