He said he pleaded with the kidnappers during a series of negotiations but they insisted that 30million Naira must be paid for each of the seven persons they abducted.

The monarch further stated that he can’t afford half a million Naira let alone N30 million while some of the parents of other abducted persons could not afford even N10,000.

He revealed that the ring leader of the kidnappers abused him severally when he was negotiating for the release of his son and six others who were all his subjects.

“The ring leader abused me severally when l told him that we can’t afford to pay what he was demanding and even threatened to come to my palace and kidnap me,” he said.

Alhaji Uba explained that they are under the threats of bandits who are all over his domain.

“My self, family members and my subjects are in total fear of the unknown because of the presence of bandits that move freely with their weapons in the forest that surrounds our area,” he lamented.

The spokesperson of the Taraba State Police Command, DSP Usman Abdullahi, confirmed the abduction of 11 people, including the son of the traditional ruler of the area.
