The Federal Government has urged the Nigerian Natural Medicine Development Agency to find medicinal plants that can treat both prostate cancer in males and breast cancer in females, saying the country is blessed locally to cure all kinds of diseases.
The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Ogbonnya Onu, made the call in Abuja Tuesday at the unveiling of a book titled ‘Healing Plants of Nigeria: Ethnomedicine and Therapeutic Application’ by Rev. Fr. Anslem Adodo and Prof. Maurice Iwu.

He said: “We can overtake and narrow the gap that exists between us and the developed countries of the world.
“I believe strongly that by understanding our herbs and our plants, it opens a wonderful opportunity for us to do this.”
