Operatives of the Edo State Police Command has arrested five suspected kidnappers and rescued three abducted victims in Edo state.
The suspected kidnappers who have been identified as; Mohammed Ali, Abdullahi Umar, Bello Tambaya, Hassan Mohammad, Adamu Bello and Babuga were nabbed at their hideout in the Udo community Area of Iguabazua, Ovia South-West local government of Edo state on February 22.

The Command’s spokesperson, Bello Kongtons, said that the suspects were linked with a kidnapping case reported at the command on February 4.
Kongtons said the principal suspect is currently on the run, adding that the arrested suspects are already providing useful information that will lead to the arrest of other gang members at large.
He said the suspects will be arraigned in court as soon as the investigation is concluded.
Speaking further, Kongtons disclosed that the police in collaboration with the local vigilante rescued three abducted victims after a gun battle at Unomi Farm Land in Iddo Okpella, Etsako East Local Government Area of the State.
He further gave the rescued person names; Marcellus Ekhayeme, Igbafe Austine, and Musa Aliu.
Kongtons said the police and vigilante on receiving information that some people were kidnapped and taken into the bush mobilised to the location on a rescue mission, and possible arrest of the suspects.
“On sighting them the hoodlums engaged them in a gun duel that lasted for about one hour but the hoodlums abandon their victims and escaped with bullet wounds,” he said.
He urged the public to continue to give useful information to the police in the effort to tackle crimes in the state.
