600 researchers, experts converge on Abidjan for interreligious dialogue

Over 600 Muslim/Christian experts and researchers have converged on Abidjan, the capital of Côte d’Ivoire, to champion interreligious dialogue in the country and across Africa.

The international symposium, organised by the Superior Council of Imams, Mosques and Islamic Affairs of Côte d’Ivoire and Mohammed VI Foundation, will kick start on Wednesday to Friday 25, 2022.

According to Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema, the symposium has brought together Muslim and Christian researchers and experts to ensure continuity of eternal message of peace conveyed by religions for the good of the Ivorians and African continent.

“More than 600 participants will be present at this event including Ivorian nationals and international personalities, in particular the presidents and members of the 34 sections of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema,” it said.

The foundation also said the symposium is aimed to open paths for exchange and dialogue between Muslims and Christians in Côte d’Ivoire and Africa and achieve sustainability of peace in Africa and Côte d’Ivoire through the dialogue.

On the sidelines of the symposium, the Foundation will organise an official tribute to the former presidents of the Superior Council of Imams, Mosques and Islamic Affairs and the Ivorian section of the Foundation, as well as a tribute to Ivorian imams from COSIM.

Also, the end of the ceremony will be marked by prayers and blessings for His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the African continent.
