Ribadu meets APC leaders, commends Buhari on economy

The pioneer chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu, has commended the federal government for improving the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) despite COVID-19 and security challenges.

Addressing local party leaders in Yola, Ribadu attributed the growth of the country’s GDP to 9.63 per cent in the fourth quarter of 2021 to the exceptional leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, whom he described as a courageous and honest leader Nigeria needed at this time.

Ribadu, a governorship aspirant, hosted the 226 ward chairmen, 21 local government chairmen, 37 state executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as well as former local government chairmen in the state.

He noted that federal government’s effort in diversifying the economy through massive investment in agriculture had started yielding results, adding that the success recorded in the war against Boko Haram brought peace to the affected communities, with displaced residents returning to their homes.

The Adamawa State APC chairman, Ibrahim Bilal, thanked Ribadu for being the first aspirant to organise a meeting to congratulate elected party officials from ward to the state level.
