Tailor arraigned for killing neighbour over bucket of water

A Kaduna magistrates’ court on Monday ordered the remand of a 29-year-old tailor, Gado Yahaya, in a correctional centre for killing his neighbour during an argument over a bucket of water.

Yahaya, a resident of Rigasa area in Kaduna is standing trial for culpable homicide.

The Magistrate, Mr Ibrahim Emmanuel, declined to take Yahaya’s plea on the ground that the court lacked jurisdiction to hear the matter and directed the police to forward the case file to the state’s Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) and adjourned the case to March 9.
