The Civil Society and Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC), at the weekend, expressed concern over the rise in cases of terrorist attacks in the country, saying that over 2,334 persons lost their lives in different bandits’ attacks in 2021.
CISLAC made this disclosure during a Focus Group Discussion on Barriers and Bridges to Accountability in the Defence and Security Sector organised for journalists on the security beat and advocacy groups in Lagos.

It organized the event in collaboration with Transparency International Defence Security Programme and supported by Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It said 2021 witnessed over 935 attacks and that the number might increase in 2022 if proactive measures are not taken by the federal government.
The body decried the state of insecurity, lamenting that the nation’s security architecture was collapsing as terrorists now operate with reckless abandon.
CISLAC Executive Director, Auwal Ibrahim Musa Rafsanjani, was represented by a board member, Barrister Oke Adesina.
