Mustapha is campaigning to become the party’s national chairman at its February 26 national convention.
A statement by his media aide, Dapo Okubanjo, on Wednesday said the delegates, who are serving and former House of Assembly members, made the endorsement during a courtesy call on the aspirant at his campaign headquarters in Abuja.
Led by Hon. Umar Yapak, the Adamawa lawmakers said they arrived at the decision to back Mustapha because they saw him as a unifier based on his antecedents.
“We have heard how, as deputy national chairman of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), you were fair to all in terms of choice of party candidates.
“We also know that you will use your experience in party administration and your age to act as a bridge between the older generation of APC members and the younger ones amongst us.
“But we are asking that you ensure that the party has a better reward system in order to calm the nerves of aggrieved party members,” he said.
