A yet to be identified elderly man was on Tuesday hit by a motorist around Deidei junction in Abuja.
The man, who was said to be crossing the ever-busy Abuja-Zuba Express way when the accident occurred, was rushed to the Lukas Hospital in Madalla, but referred to the UniAbuja Teaching Hospital in Gwagwalada.

A witness, Kabiru Danbatta, said the driver of the vehicle, a Toyota Camry, was coming from the Zuba axis.
Confirming the incident, the FRSC Zuba Unit Commander Elezabeth Benedict, said the man died in the hospital and that his remains were deposited at the hospital’s morgue.
She said the driver of the vehicle was handed over to the police outpost in Dei-dei while the search for the victim’s relatives is ongoing.
