The Federation of Informal Workers’ Organisations of Nigeria Tuesday appealed to the federal government to consider the lifting of the ban on the sale of petroleum products in border communities in Ogun State.
The General Secretary of FIWON, Gbenga Komolafe, made the appeal Tuesday during a press briefing in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The federal government had announced the closure of borders in the country and also banned the sale of fuel within 20km to the borders in the country
The workers lamented that the people in the border towns with the Benin Republic in Ogun state were suffering at the hands of security agencies.
He said the Nigerian and Beninese border communities around Idi-Iroko including Ido-petu, Ifoyintedo, Ilase, Ajilete, Ite, Egbe and Oke- Odan area of Ogun State were mostly affected.
