Former House of Representatives members on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have identified a lack of internal democracy as a major threat to the party.
The forum, therefore, called on delegates to the February 26, 2022, national convention to elect only credible and trusted party chieftains as members of the National Working Committee (NWC).

A communique signed by the forum’s Protem Chairman, Ibrahim Zailani, at the end of their meeting in Abuja, cautioned the top echelon of the ruling party to abide by all tenets of democracy in the interest of the nation.
He said, “It is in the progressive interest of the party to ensure that internal democracy reigns supreme.
“We reviewed the current state of our great party, the APC and called on the Caretaker/ Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee to ensure that internal democracy is sustained in the party.”
The meeting was attended by former members from all the states of the federation including those that served in the 2nd and 3rd Republics.
