The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, are among alumni of the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos (UNILAG), who are expected to attend the institution’s 60th anniversary.
Other members of the alumni expected at the event are Justice Bode Rhodes-Vivour JSC (Rtd), Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun (JSC), Wole Olanipekun (SAN), Odien Ajumogobia (SAN), Kanu Agabi (SAN), Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo and Prof Amos Utuama (SAN), among a litany of other distinguished members of the Nigerian society.
The first alumni reunion, which is tagged “The Great Homecoming”, was announced over the weekend by the Chairman of the UNILAG Alumni Relations Committee, Prof Taiwo Osipitan (SAN).
Prof Osipitan said the event was earlier fixed for 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted preparations.
According to him, the law faculty is one of the first faculties of UNILAG at the time it was established in 1962, adding that this year, the university and the faculty will roll out the red carpet to celebrate the diamond jubilee.
