Kano agro-pastoral project to set up 500 milk collection centres

The Kano State Agro-Pastoral Development Project (KSADP) through a loan facility from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and a grant component from Live and Livelihood Funds (LLF) have concluded arrangement to establish 500 milk collection centres across the state.

This was disclosed by the Director Technical, KNARDA, Malam Bala Mato Marke during a community stakeholder sensitisation programme organised by KSADP.

He said the project being implemented by Sasakawa Africa Association (SAA) and Kano State Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (KNARDA) has put a lot in place to ensure enhanced and well-developed agricultural practices that will lead to a sustainable agro-development in the state.

He further explained that under the project, a grazing reserve has been established, artificial insemination conducted and millions of animals vaccinated.

Earlier in his remarks, KSADP Coordinator in SAA, Abdulrasheed Kofar Mata revealed that the sensitisation, which was conducted in various local governments across the state is aimed at enlightening stakeholders on how far the project has gone and what to expect in the 5-year project.
