Private schools proprietors in Kano met on Sunday to address issues affecting their educational ventures in a bid to bring an end to bizarre happenings in schools.
This is in response to the unfortunate event of the murder of five-year old Hanifa Abubakar who was recently kidnapped and murdered by her school proprietor.

The meeting of the proprietors, which took place at the office of the Executive Secretary, Kano State Private and Voluntary Institutions Board, Musa Abba Dankawu, was attended by the leadership of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Association of Model Islamic Schools (AMIS) and Association of Private Schools Owners of Nigeria (APSON) among others.
Sympathising with Hanifa and her family, they appreciated the security agencies involved in unraveling the ugly act calling on the government to speedily prosecute the suspect.
Preempting his plan, the Executive Secretary, Kano State Private and Voluntary Institutions Board, Musa Abba Dankawu warns that any proprietor found wanting on issues that are not in accordance with the law and governing rules of the board will surely risk losing his operating license.
They collectively agreed on modalities to reposition and restructure the educational system of private schools in the state.
Meanwhile, the Senator representing Kano Central, Ibrahim Shekarau, has vowed to personally pursue the case of Hanifa, the girl kidnapped and subsequently killed in Kano.
But Senator Shekarau, according to a statement by his media aide, Dr Sule Yau Sule, sympathised with her family and promised to ensure she got justice.
His condolence message was delivered to the family.
The two term former Kano State Governor, who said “A heartless murder like this must not be swept under the carpet,” also vowed to follow it to its logical conclusion.
Senator Shekarau then prayed to Almighty Allah to give the family the fortitude to bear the loss.
