Unknown gunmen on Saturday shot and beheaded a member of the Ebubeagu security outfit in Ebonyi State.
The slain man has been identified as Sunday Nwafor, aged 30.

The incident occurred in Ekpelu, in Ikwo Local Government Area of the state.
The gunmen were five in number and were suspected to be members of the warlords from the area.
Daily Trust gathered that they stormed the man’s house at night when he was asleep, shot him dead, dragged his body out of the room and beheaded him.
The spokesperson of the police command in the state, DSP Loveth Odah, confirmed the incident.
Odah, who described the act as barbaric, said that two of the five suspects have been arrested.
“According to the wife, who spoke to policemen, before she heard a gunshot, she over-heard one of the hoodlums telling her husband that he left them in the bush and came back home to enjoy himself by collecting N30,000 from the government.
“This is barbaric,” she explained.
The police spokesperson said the commissioner of police in the state had ordered an investigation into the incident.
He also vowed to arrest other suspects who are currently at large.
