A former chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Chief Olumayokin Oluwole Oluyede, has said that his leaving the APC for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), one of the 18 registered political parties, was avoid pitfalls that might hinder his governorship ambition.
The Ekiti State governorship aspirant said this on Wednesday in Abuja, at the party’s national secretariat while obtaining the party’s governorship interest and intent form.

He described his new party, the ADC, as the credible alternative platform that would take the state out of the doldrums.
Oluyede who dumped the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) last week said he joined the ADC to provide solutions to the many challenges facing the state.
The guber hopeful slammed previous administrations in the state, including the current APC in the state for doing nothing to transform the state beyond its current status.
He said his former party, the APC is a party that has lost focus and lacks internal democracy.
Speaking on his chances at the forthcoming election, he said his chances was high giving his track record and huge support he enjoys across the state.
“The present APC government in the state has not changed Ekiti State. I will lead my people out of poverty. We are poor people, despite this, we are proud. I can tell you my chances are high and bright because I carry the will of millions of Ekiti people. This is the time of giving Ekiti people credible option,” Oluyede said.
