Don’t shield culprits of Imo church invasion, HURIWA tells Police

The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) on Wednesday charged the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba, to make public the findings of the police panel which investigated the recent invasion of a church in Imo State by hooded policemen.

It also asked the police, the army and the Department of State Services to reveal the identities of those involved in the attack at the place of worship where Uche Nwosu, the son-in-law of a former Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, was abducted.

Addressing journalists in Abuja, National Coordinator of HURIWA, Emmanuel Onwubiko, said Nigerians would resist attempts to sweep the matter under the carpet, saying “it has become the norm since the inception of the current administration”.
