Ali Nuhu
Unarguably one of the biggest names in Kannywood, the movie superstar has two children; Fatima and Ahmad, who are already toeing their father’s path.
Born on March 15, 1974, Ali Nuhu Mohammed is a Nigerian actor and director who has gained prominence in both the Hausa and English-speaking sectors of the Nigerian movie industry. He is also known as the king of Kannywood or ‘Sarki’ Ali by the media.

It is gathered that he has featured in over 500 Nollywood and Kannywood films and earned numerous accolades. It is often said that he is the first Nigerian celebrity to act in both the Northern Kannywood and Southern Nollywood movie industries of the country with full dominance and bringing the two cinemas together.
His son, Ahmad Ali Nuhu, is a teen Kannywood actor, who started out as a child actor. He was also a Blue Boat Milk ambassador and friends with the likes of soccer superstar, Ahmed Musa. He was born on May 30, 2006.
Moreso, the superstar’s first daughter, Fatima, was among the few actors in Kannywood who began her career at the tender age of five. She was born on January 13, 2004.
The young lady is also a fashion model and brand influencer.
Sani Danja
The multi-facet entertainer is popularly known as an actor but he is also a good singer, dancer and movie director. Born Sani Musa Abdullahi on April 20, 1973, he acts in both the Kannywood and Nollywood sectors of the Nigerian film industry and is a force to be reckoned with in both sectors.
In April 2018, he was turbaned by the Etsu Nupe, Yahaya Abubaka, as Zakin Arewa.
Reputable for his unique costumes and Indian-style song-and-dance routines, it was gathered that the ‘Danja’ in his name has been with him since childhood because he was stubborn and persistent.
He began his singing and dancing career at the early age of 12. Later on, he became a member of the `Young Kiddies Voice’ — a musical children’s group that dazzled during the late eighties. After the group broke up, he began his solo career, a move that shot him into the limelight.
It was gathered that Danja was responsible for producing one of the best-selling Hausa songs in the early nineties, `Yaki-taho-yaki’. He later ventured into the Hausa movie industry in 1999 with his debut movie `Students’ (Dalibai), a film he produced and directed alongside his business partner Yakubu Muhammad.
Following his footsteps are two of his children; a daughter Khadijatu, and a son, Khalifa.
His firstborn and daughter, Khadijatu Iman Sani Danja, began her acting career when she was as little as 11 months old as both her parents are prominent actors in Kannywood. Since then, she has featured in several films.
However, she took a break from acting to concentrate on her studies but returned to the silver screen in 2019. The child star is also a model and brand influencer. She acted alongside Ali Nuhu’s son, Ahmad, in a commercially successful movie, Buri Uku A Duniya.
Khalifa Sani Danjais, the second born of Mansurah and Sani Danja, is a child actor who acted alongside his sister in the “Akeela” movie. He was born on May 1, 2013.
TY Shaba
Born Tamim Yahuza Shaban, the man is an all-around entertainer in the northern section of the Nigerian entertainment industry.
Popularly known as TY Shaban or Shaba, he is a Nigerian singer, actor, dancer, TV presenter and film producer in the Northern Nigerian film industry, popularly known as Kannywood.
Born on February 4, 1980, Shaban was first known in the field of Hausa music with his songs “Uwargida Ran Gida” and “Shaba zo Taho”, which are well-known because they have reached every part of Hausa land.
His son has followed his footpath.
Billy O
Billy-O is a known name in the Northern sector of the Nigerian music industry as he is one of the pioneers of the sector.

Singer Billy O
As his father’s name suggests, Hanny is the “Da” of the famous Hausa Hip Hop singer. According to reports the entertainer doubles as a teacher at Jammaje English School and a presenter at Dala Fm 88.5 in Kano.
Hanny Billy-O started singing a few years ago when the late Lil Amir was alive.
