Two motorcycle snatchers nabbed in Niger

The police in Niger State have arrested two suspected motorcycle snatchers identified as Aliyu A. and Mohammed Dani in Minna, the Niger State capital.

The suspects were arrested by the operatives from the GRA police station, Minna, during their operation at about 2:30pm on Sunday when the suspects allegedly attempted to kill one of their victims.

The suspects, who boarded one motorcycle popularly known as okada from Fadukpe area of Minna to Shanu area, reportedly hit the rider, identified as Mohammed Idris Sakewa, on his head with a hammer and took the motorcycle.

Witnesses said screaming by the victim attracted people around the area who went after the criminals, arrested and handed them to the Fadikpe Vigilante Corps who in turn took them to the police while the victim was rushed to the police clinic, Unguwan-Daji, Minna.
