The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has charged the federal government to formulate more policies that will improve, the security architecture and people’s standard of living.
The monarch gave the charge in a New Year message signed by his media aide, Alli Ibrahim.
He commended the federal government for the infrastructural development, especially the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and rail services across the nation.
He enjoined citizens to keep hope alive in the greatness of Nigeria and to believe in themselves and the country to achieve the purpose of survival.
“Hope is a promisory note. When you have hope, you have to work for it. The first step is the will. That is, you must believe in yourself. It starts from there. As Nigerians, whether at home or in the Diaspora, we must trust and have hope in our country. It is a collective task. Our society is a product of what we do to it. Let’s imbibe the spirit of patriotism and begin to bring out the best in Nigeria.”
“2021 was one of the most challenging years, not only for Nigeria, but mankind in general. We have laboured in 2021, I’m optimistic we shall reap bountifully in 2022. It shall be virile, productive, progressive and remarkable.
“As Nigerians, we need to believe more in our country. Our strength can be rejigged if we so wish. The will is the key to achieve the hope. Let’s positively utilize it.
“I wish all Nigerians a better and more fruitful new year. Last year was challenging. We laboured and I’m certain we will reap our efforts bountifully this year. Let’s keep hope alive,” he said.
