“You cannot afford to let down the nation in your call to higher responsibility in defending the Nation’s territorial integrity and in meeting the National aspirations for peace in all dark spots of insecurity in parts of the country”.

He said they were elevated to make them justify the confidence reposed in them by defeating all adversaries disturbing the nooks and crannies of the country.

He added the promotion was well-deserved, urging them to remain focused on discharging of their constitutional mandate.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya, urged the newly decorated officers to see their new ranks as a call to higher duty and more responsibility, especially at the time the Armed Forces were at the forefront of combating criminalities in all parts of Nigeria.

He charged them to be ruthless in degrading criminal elements.

The COAS asked them to remain highly professional and apolitical, warning that “there is no room for indolence.”
