Islamic scholars in Madarasatul Nurul Islam, 123 Quarters, Al-Nuriyyah Islamic Foundation and Al-Inara Islamic School Minna, have offered special prayers to seek Allah’s intervention in the security challenges facing the state and Nigeria as a whole.
The convener and leading iman, Mallam Muhammad Adam Bosso, said the prayer session was held in compliance with a call by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar, for fervent prayers against insecurity and other challenges facing the country.
He said the lingering insecurity in Nigeria required fervent prayers, stressing that every citizen needed to contribute in whatever way to end the ongoing killings and kidnapping in the country.
The vice-chairman, Al-Nuriyyah Islamic Foundation, Alhaji Usman Ayuba Katako, said many children have become orphans in the North as a result of banditry and Boko Haram activities.
He said, “the prayer is for Nigeria to have peace; the prayer is for the leaders to have mercy on the led; and the followers to have ability and perseverance to pay allegiance to the leaders, so that banditry, Boko Haram, kidnappings and these hardships would be a thing of the past.”
