An officer of the Nigeria Police Force, serving at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, collected N380,000 from Mr. Emmanuel Onyilo in exchange for a job as a supernumerary police officer and issued him a fake appointment letter, police identity card, and other documents to further deceive him.
The same officer collected a similar amount from other persons for the same purpose and gave them fake documents to prove she has secured genuine employments for them.

While investigating, the officer has refused to pick her calls and to reply to the text messages sent in order to get her to speak on the allegation against her.
However, a link on a publication in a national newspaper that exposed some officers who did a similar thing was sent to her and that made her pick her call after reading it but still insisted that she can only speak with Onyilo whom she did business with.
According to the victim, after discovering that the job offered to him was fake, he asked for the refund of his money but the officer alleged that the money she collected from him and other victims was shared among the people in charge of recruitment and employment of the applicants as civilian police officers and there will be no refund.
This is not the first time I am writing to expose this kind of illegal activity in the police but I am disappointed that similar cases keep replicating and resurfacing because the perpetrators of this scam always go unpunished.
I am calling on the federal government to quickly look into this growing evil before it becomes normal.
How can we (youth) go through various stages of education to acquire knowledge and thereafter, we still have to pay money to get government jobs that are legitimately ours?
