The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) said it had secured the conviction of 122 people while 481 were under prosecution for committing various offences within one year.
Controller General of the NSCDC, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, made the disclosure during the NSCDC ‘Quarterly Commandant General’s Conference in Abuja on Tuesday.

The CG also said they had arrested a total number of 503 offenders and destroyed 79 illegal refineries.
He said the offences committed by the convicts/offenders bothered around crude oil theft and vandalism of critical national assets.
Audi said the corps had registered 94 private guards companies, sealed 133 while 163 were awaiting licenses.
He added that 42 private guards companies were unsealed, 100 recommended for revocation of licences and 849 had their licenses renewed.
The CG also disbursed over 40 bank cheques to officers’ widows who paid the supreme price in the line of duty, injured personnel both serving and retired.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior, Dr Olufunsho Alabi, in a goodwill remark, underscored the need for intensive training programmes for personnel of the corps to enhance their professionalism, and capacity to tackle contemporary security threats
