Organisers of the 43rd Kaduna International Trade Fair have disclosed plans to stream the event virtually for the benefit of exhibitors and visitors over rising cases of the Omicron variant of the Covid-19.
Addressing newsmen on the level of preparations for the fair yesterday in Kaduna, the 1st Deputy President and Chairman Trade Fair Main Organising Committee of the Kaduna Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (KADCCIMA), Ishaya Idi, said they are making arrangements to see how exhibitors can send their goods to the fair while they join virtually.
He, however, noted that eight countries including Pakistan, Morocco, India, Germany, Egypt, Bangladesh, Mali and Niger Republic have indicated interest in participating in the fair, which is scheduled to hold between February 25 and March 6, 2022.
According to him, “One new thing we are bringing to the fair next year is that we hope to link up the fair virtually due to the Omicron variant of the Covid-19 so that exhibitors, as well as visitors to the fair who want to attend but are unable to come, will not be left out.
“Also, companies from the eight states who have indicated interest to take part in the fair are expected to showcase their products and services to potential buyers during the two weeks of heavy business engagements.”
He added, “The theme for the fair which is ‘Restrategising Nigeria’s Economy for Global Competitiveness”, was chosen to align KADCCIMA with the effort of the Nigerian government in revamping the dwindling economy to compete favourably with the outside world.
