Female student dies in Taraba varsity fire

A 100-Level female student of the Taraba State University, Jalingo, has died in the fire outbreak in the school on Friday night.

Enuseh Lawi, who is a 100-Level student of Tourism and hailed from Donga Local Government Area of the state, was said to be asleep when the fire started.

She was subsequently rushed to the Federal Medical Centre Jalingo along with other students injured in the fire, where she died a few hours later due to severe burns.

The school authorities, through the Chief Information Officer of the university, Sanusi Saad, told Daily Trust it is investigating the cause of the fire outbreak.

Saad also revealed that the university has functional fire fighting vehicles while hostels and offices were provided with fire fighting equipment.
