Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola says the state government has recruited 350 Amotekun operatives, 750 vigilantes and hunters to improve the security of lives and property in the state.
The said this Monday night at Sheraton Hotels and Towers in Abuja after he was crowned DAAR Communications Outstanding Leader in Public Service (Citizens’ Welfare) for 2021.

Oyetola said he was applying private sector results-oriented principles to fill the gap in governance so that the people could truly enjoy the dividend of democracy in the state.
“We inaugurated 350 Amotekun Corps and recruited 750 vigilantes, including hunters across all local government in the state to further enhance the security of lives and property of our people,” he said.
The governor said he saw the award as an endorsement of APC in Osun State and his administration.
He said his government would continue to live up to its billing as a responsive and responsible administration.
“I thank DAAR Communications for this award and I dedicate it to the people of Osun who gave me the platform to prove that it is indeed possible to run a state like Osun in a depressed economy without necessarily inflicting additional pains on the people,” the governor said.
Among those who accompanied the governor to receive the award were his wife, Mrs Kafayat Olaitan Oyetola; his son, Femi Oyetola; former Deputy Governor of the State, Senator Iyiola Omisore; cabinet members; members of the National Assembly from Osun; and other political functionaries.
