The Chairman, Zylus Group International, Dr. Oluwatosin Olatujoye, has called for flexible payment, as the realistic approach to addressing the housing deficit and ensuring affordable housing is within the reach of Nigerians.

Olatujoye made the call during a press briefing to flag off a new housing estate scheme in the Lekki axis of Lagos State tagged ‘Lekki Pride 2 Estate’, an offshoot of the Lekki Pride 1 Estate by Zylus Homes and Property Ltd, a subsidiary of Zylus Group International.
“With the incessant rising cost of goods and service across the country, nothing is ‘affordable’ anymore. We have to be realistic that affordable housing is near impossible to achieve because nothing is affordable as we all know; hence our focus is on devising flexible payment schemes or plans that makes it easy for aspiring homeowners in Nigerians to acquire homes.”
Speaking on the foundation laying block of the Lekki Pride 2 housing scheme, Olatujoye said that many of the new housing schemes in Lagos are in the Lekki axis where the value of land is at a premium therefore affordability is made easier and possible through a well thought out flexible payment schemes.
Also, the Managing Director, Zylus Homes, Mr. Lateef Lawal, said that the payment schemes are flexible with different tenures ranging from six months to 24 months with a fix initial down payment.
Lawal highlighted the various features and value propositions of the Lekki Pride 2 like proximity to the beach front, perimeter fencing, a daycare/creche, outdoor sports facilities, drainage system, CCTV Surveillance Camera, Estate Gym House, recreational center, round the clock security, Smart home Features, solar-powered streetlights, Excellent accessible road network, Pharmaceutic Store, Spacious Parking Space, All Rooms en suite, etc.
“Lekki Pride 2 is necessitated by the success of the Lekki Pride 1 and this is in line with our vision which is at the core of reducing the housing deficit in Nigeria and ensuring every Nigerian owns a home titled to them. So far, we have helped to raise slightly over 200 homeowners. In addition, Lekki Pride 2 will feature 200 housing units,” Lawal said.
