Operatives of the Edo State Police Command in collaboration with the military and vigilantes have arrested four suspected kidnappers and rescued five victims kidnapped on the Benin-Auchi Road on December 1.
It was gathered that the suspects were arrested by the anti-kidnapping unit in a joint operation conducted around Era Forest in Ekpoma, Esan-West Local Government Area.

The police spokesman, Bello Kongtons, said the suspects, Yakubu Liman, Mohammed Umaru, Ibrahim Adamu and Dauda Shehu, were arrested in different locations in the forest.
He said one of the victims who escaped identified Umaru and Liman to be part of those that kidnapped him and two others, who were yet to regain their freedom after paying N2.4million ransom.
He said the victims were rescued in collaboration with military and local vigilantes while combing the forest.
He assured residents of the command’s determination to rid the state of criminals.
