Beautiful, factual and unassailable editorial. I wonder what the ordinary Nigerians enjoy from government, whether at federal, state or local. Leaders take the lead for a ride because they do as they please knowing there will be no serious consequences. Is it not a shame that Nigeria imports refined petroleum? Nobody can justify the huge salaries and allowances of public officials. Nobody can justify the importation of expensive SUVs for public officials and nobody can justify their obscene lifestyle. If Buhari can’t redeem the situation as it clearly shows, we are irredeemably doomed. Public office is no longer for service but primitive accumulation of wealth. Governors have become sole administrators acting as if they are not products of democratic elections. I have lived long enough to know that we are now in serious trouble. I have been to all over the world to know that what Nigeria lacks has been visionary, transformational and inspirational leadership!
