Nine suspects and four victims of human trafficking were rescued after a mysterious fire gutted the zonal command of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons and other Related matters in Sokoto state on Saturday.
The cause of the fire was still unknown as at the time of filling this report.

Daily Trust gathered that, the fire which started around 1pm kept raging until around 4pm when it was put off by fire fighters.
It was also gathered that, the administration section of the command was completely razed down.
A staff of the agency who spoke on condition of anonymity, said many valuable things, including cash and credentials were lost to the outbreak.
“At the time the fire started we have nine suspected traffickers in the cell and four victims but they are evacuated safely,” the source said.
The source added that, “every sections of the command was affected with the exception of our cell and three offices which were detached from the admin block.”
The fire came few days after the Command secured a court verdict, sentencing a young man who defiled a 3-year old girl to 10-years imprisonment.
