Daily Trust gathered that he met with them on Tuesday, and asked them to give him details of what happened in the community and the identities of the soldiers that assaulted them.

It was learnt that the victims, who met with the army major in the office of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Zuba, told him that they couldn’t identify the soldiers since the attack was carried out at night.

One of the victims, who preferred anonymity, confirmed to our reporter of meeting with the army major.

“Really, we met with one army major AU Mukhtar at Zuba police division on Tuesday, where he told us that we should join him to the barrack so that we can identify those soldiers that assaulted us, but we told him that we are not going since those soldiers came in the dark,” he said.

He said the army major later assured them that he will write a report after the investigation.

When contacted, the Zuba Divisional Police Officer (DPO), said he was not aware of the army Major’s meeting with the assaulted victims of Tungan-Maje.

“But the only thing I know is that some natives of Tungan-Maje came to report a particular woman at my division, that is all I know,” he claimed.

Daily Trust had reported that some soldiers had on Sunday night stormed three houses in Tungan-Maje and allegedly assaulted the Galadima of Tungan-Maje, Salihu Aliyu, and his eldest son, Abdulrahman Salihu alongside six others.
