The people of Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State have condemned the incessant attack on communities in the area by gunmen.
A statement signed by the chairman, Mbano Journalists’ Association, Amb. Kelechi Uzomah and secretary, Comrade Ifeanyi Ndukwe, regretted that the people of Mbano are being killed on a daily basis.
They called on Governor Hope Uzodimma, the senator representing Imo North, Frank Ibezim; Minister of State, Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, the member representing Okigwe North federal constituency, Mariam Onuoha and other notable indigenes of the area to intervene to end the killings.
According to them, “these leaders should rise up and find a means of protecting the lives of beloved people of Mbano nation. “We are tired of hearing the killings and shootings going on in the two LGAs of Mbano nation and want our leaders to urgently rescue the situation”.
They called on Governor Uzodimma to engage the gunmen to find lasting peace in Imo State.
