Zone B Customs seizes goods worth N390.9m

The Federal Operations Units (zone B) of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has made 98 seizures of goods worth N390.9 million from 30 September to 16 November 2021.

The Comptroller Albashir Hamisu who made the disclosure at the zone’s headquarters along Kaduna-Zaria highway warned smugglers to desist from the business.

According to him, the customs will continue to hunt them down until it free the country of smugglers activities.

He further mentioned the seizure made to include 33 units of vehicles, 944 bags of foreign parboiled rice, 524 KEGS of foreign vegetable oil, 669 cartons of foreign spaghetti and Macaroni,249 Bales of second-hand clothing, 100 cartons of foreign cigarettes. 

Others are 153 cartons of foreign Eva and GIV soap,70 cartons of foreign ginny milky

creamer,40 packs of foreign Liquid Adhesive, 29 cartoons of Tinned Tomato paste, 13 KEGS of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) and 2 bags of foreign refined sugar.

Comptroller Hamisu further warned smugglers to desist from bringing in items banned by the government adding that failure to do so they will be prosecuted.
