Ukrainian University to honour Aregbesola, Amaechi, others

The foremost Ukrainian Lviv University of Business and Law is set to confer its prestigious Honorary Doctorate Degrees on a few selected eminent Nigerians, who have made outstanding contributions in Academics, Politics, Business Administration, Cultural Exchange, Religion and Humanitarian Services in the advancement of humanity.

This is a part of the university’s international collaborative programs towards encouraging excellence which involves acknowledging the contributions of respected and distinguished men and women worldwide.

A statement signed by the University’s country representative in Nigeria, Dr Cliff Ogbede, said among those to be honoured are Rotimi Amaechi, Minister for Transportation; Godswill Akpabio, Minister for Niger Delta Affairs; Minister for Interior, Rauf Ogbeni Aregbesola; Sen. Owelle Rochas Okorocha; Minister of State for Petroleum, Timipre Sylva; Chairman of NDLEA, Buba Marwa; and MD, Ochacho Real Homes, King Odeh Adah.

Lviv University for Business and Law has the highest Ivy level of accreditation and is one of the leading educational institutions in Eastern Europe in training highly qualified personnel for the economic sector, law, international relations, and journalism.

Also, the University has joined the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI), a global initiative that brings higher education institutions together with the United Nations to actively support ten globally recognized principles related to human rights, literacy, sustainable development and conflict resolution.

Considering the current pandemic that has limited international travel, Dr Ogbede stated that the conferment will be done in Abuja by the representatives of the University, with the support of the Embassy of Ukraine in Nigeria, through its Nigerian partner agency, FTAISA Skills & Entrepreneurship Centre/Baumat GmbH.

The program will equally witness high-level engagements in expanding future cooperation between the University and Nigeria.

And the focus will be to offer educational support that will improve the skills and manpower development of Nigerian students, workers and business people.

Dr Ogbede stated that part of what makes the University unique is that prominent scholars from Germany, Poland and other European countries regularly give lectures at the Lviv University of Business and Law and the event will be a platform to engage stakeholders towards offering foreign scholarships to Nigerian students who qualify for studies in Ukraine.
