Dare appoints former Pillars chairman, Abba Yola, as Chief of Staff

The Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has appointed a former Chairman of Kano Pillars football club, Alhaji Abdullahi Abba Yola, as his Chief of Staff.

The Ciroman Yola who is a former chieftain of the defunct National Sports Commission (NSC), has been involved directly with sports as an athlete and administrator for so many years.

A statement from the office of the Minister yesterday stated that Abba Yola is expected to bring his wealth of experience to bear on his present assignment.

“He is expected to bring his vast experience to bear on this new assignment having worked closely with the Ministry in the past. 

“He has acquired the relevant experience in sports administration that can be used to enhance and better the administration of any government organization, most especially in the sports and youth sector of the country,” the statement reads in part.

Abba Yola who served sports in the part in different capacities was recently named among members of the Ministerial Task Force that is charged with the responsibility of finding lasting peace to the lingering crisis in the Nigeria basketball Federation (NBBF).
