FG urged to deploy security agents to tertiary institutions

The rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, Sunusi Waziri Gumau, an architect, has appeal to the federal government to take charge of the provision of security to all federal tertiary institutions to secure them against bandits and other criminals.

Gumau, who made the appeal yesterday during the 2021 matriculation ceremony held at the institution said the appeal became necessary as it would be difficult for institutions to pay for security services from its “meager” internally generated revenues.

He disclosed that a total of 5,181 students were matriculated for the 2020/2021 academic session.
