The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Ogbonnaya Onu, says Nigeria will work to strengthen bilateral ties with the European Union with a special focus on research and development through science, technology and innovation.
Onu said this in Abuja on Tuesday while receiving the new European Union Ambassador to Nigeria, Samuela Isopi.

Nigeria, like all other countries of the world, the minister noted, is transiting from resource to knowledge base economy as such the ministry is at the forefront of driving innovation in the country which basically affects every system.
He said the country would be in a position to create more jobs for its teeming population in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s vision of lifting over 100 million Nigerians out of extreme poverty within the next ten years.
