The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested a 60-year-old man, Bolaji Olarongbe, for aiding and abetting theft and housebreaking.
An alleged accomplice, Moshood Shittu, was also arrested by the NSCDC operatives.
The sexagenarian was said to be the receiver of stolen items from Shittu, who specialised in burgling people’s houses.
The spokesman for the NSCDC in the state, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, while speaking on the issue said Olanrongbe was indicted by Shittu, which led to the search for his residence.
He said the command was acting on a complaint from one Yemisi Adefila, 41, a resident of Oko Oba Area of Gaa Akanbi, who accused Shittu of breaking into her parents’ house and stealing valuables.
Babawale told Daily Trust that about 70 Android phones, phone accessories and several other laptops and DVD players among other valuable items were recovered from the search on Olanrongbe’s residence.
