The Ekiti State High Court has sentenced a 45-year-old woman, Najimu Yemisi, to 10 years with a N70,000.00 option of fine.
Justice Lekan Ogunmoye, in his judgment, said, “What the convict did is reprehensible enough.
“Therefore, the punishment on her must be such as will serve as deterrence to her and others who may wish to behave in a similar way.
“She is sentenced to 10 years imprisonment with N70. 000.00 as option of fine.’’

Earlier, Yemisi was arraigned on a three-count charge bothering on the attempt to murder, acts intended to cause grievous harm and occasioning harm.
According to the charge, the defendant on August 26, 2019, at No 20, Afro Akinyede Estate, Odo Ado, Ado Ekiti, attempted to cause grievous harm and murder one Bosede Faleye Ojo contrary to Sections 320 (1), 322 and 355 of the Criminal Code.
The prosecutor, Dolapo Oyewole, called five witnesses to prove the case and tendered statements of the victim and the defendant, a cement block, a medical report, among other exhibits.
