A viral video of primary school pupils holding an assembly and reciting the national anthem in a pool of dirty floods in Lagos State has generated reactions from social media users.
Social media users had reacted angrily to the video, which appeared on Saturday, blaming the school for allowing the pupils to hold the assembly in such a condition.

They also blamed the Lagos State Government of poor monitoring of private schools.
Oyebademojishola, who reacted on Instagram, said: “The school management that made the pupils stay in that dirty water to conduct assembly in the name of proving a point is more wicked than the said government.”
Another Instagram user, iamtayyibah, said: “Is it by force to do assembly? What kind of rubbish schools is our government approving self.”
Also, mr_sahas373n on his part said the government had failed woefully.
An instagram account bearing ‘nobledwon’ posted: “This isn’t a public school, public school cannot be in an enclosed space like that and can’t be pako building. The private school owner should be engaged on this and not government. Yet, I blame government for lack of proper monitoring of private school standards since federal government itself is not responsible for anything.”
Responding, Lagos State Government explained that the video was taken some months ago by a church that wanted to use the video to raise funds for the school.
According to the Commissioner for Education, Mrs Folashade Adefisayo, the school is a low-cost private school in Makoko, Lagos State.
