Fake news: Nigerians tasked on fact-checking tools

The founder of PRNigeria, Yushau Shuaib, has said Nigerians need to be sensitized on the use of fact-checking tools to curb the spread of fake news.

He said there was need for Nigerians to use social media for positive change, adding that the sensitization would ensure the destruction experienced during the EndSARS protest in 2020 do not reoccur.

He said research done by the media outlet showed that there were more than 101 fake news propagated by social media influencers, media outlets and Nigerians in the diaspora during the EndSARS protest.

He noted that the lives and property lost during the EndSARS protest was a pointer to the dangers of fake news.
