Enugu State Commissioner for Lands and Urban Development, Surv Victor Chukwuemeka Nnam, has resigned his appointment in protest over alleged unceremonious and sudden removal of some departmental heads in his ministry.
Daily Trust on Sunday recalls that Dr. Nnam was appointed by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi in 2019 to administer the ministry, which is one of the core revenue generating arms of the state government.
The resignation is coming when there is controversy concerning alleged land racketeering perpetuated in the ministry by certain powerful clique.
However, in his resignation letter dated 29th October 2021, the commissioner cited the recent removal of the professional heads of department under him as reason for his resignation.
