Police nab mother, son over murder of 60-year-old

The Ogun Police Command Friday said its men have arrested a 35-year-old woman, Mary Ogbeifu, and her 17-year-old son, Godwin Ogbeifu, over the alleged murder of a 60-year-old neighbour, Iyabo Olasheinde.

The suspects were arrested following a distress call received by the police at Ojodu Abiodun divisional headquarters in Ifo Local Government Area of the state.

The Police Spokesman, Abimbola Oyeyemi, told newsmen that the woman and her son had quarrelled with the deceased and in the process, the son allegedly stabbed the deceased on her neck with a broken bottle, resulting in her death.

Oyeyemi said the remains of the deceased have been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy while the suspects would be charged to court after investigation.
