A former Governor of Kano State, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has commissioned Amana Sanatorium, a drug rehabilitation clinic in Kano to commemorate his 65th birthday anniversary celebration.
The multi-purpose centre, located at Jido village on the outskirt of Kano Municipality along Kano-Wudil Federal Highway, has a depression management section and a reformatory centre.

Speaking at the commissioning, Kwankwaso said the reformatory center was established because people with drug problems require top-notch treatment and care.
“In the past, rehabilitation centres were provided and managed by federal and state governments but these centres have been abandoned,” he said.
He said in the centre, the victims of drug abuse would be attended to by psychiatrist doctors, psychiatrist nurses, clinical psychologists, sociologists, psychotherapists, counselors and religious tutors.
According to him, people with drug-related problems would be treated at the centre to enable them to bounce back to normal life.
