The Yobe State University (YSU) has granted free scholarship to 23 indigent students of the institution.
The Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Mala Daura, said the gesture was part of its study waiver to physically challenged students.
He said the management has already granted approval to enable the beneficiaries to enjoy free education from the beginning of their study to the end.
Daura also said as part his personal contribution to reduce the number of out-of-school children on the street, he supported 30 orphans who lost their parents during the Boko Haram crisis.
One of the beneficiaries, Adam Yau, a 200 level student of sociology and anthropology, thanked the institution, saying that the gesture would go a long way in encouraging them in their studies.
