A youth-led organisation, Kano State Youth Ambassadors (KASYA), has trained 200 youths from Nassarawa Local Government Area of the state on computer literacy.
The training forms part of the group’s strategy to prepare the youths on acquiring knowledge to check the rate of unemployment in the state and its attendant consequences.
Among the beneficiaries of the free training, 120 participants received diplomas, 35 got advanced diplomas while 45 acquired certificates.
Speaking at the ceremony, the chairman of Arewa Youth Consultative Council, Zaidu Ayuba Alhaji, commended the leadership of the youth-led group for opening minds to the reality of the contemporary world by imbibing and taking advantage of technology.
The chairman and convener of the initiative, Abubakar Yusuf Tudunwada, also congratulated the beneficiaries, tasked them to shun social vices and urged them to start something in order to become self-reliant.
Tudunwada added that the organisation is ready to support and mentor any beneficiary who would use the training to start a business or initiate development.
