Corruption: Governments urged to create ‘hall of shame’

The federal and state governments have been urged to create a “hall of shame” where persons who have been indicted for corruption or fraud by a competent court will have their names engraved.

The Chairman of Professional Training and Standards of the Chartered Institute of Forensics and Certified Fraud Examiners of Nigeria (CIFCFEN), Prof Michael A. Ayeni, made the call on Friday in Abuja during the investiture of Hajiya Fatima Muhammadu Buhari as a member of the Board of Trustees of the institute and the second direct induction of 17 members.

He said when such hall was created it would deter people from engaging in such crimes as nobody would want their names to be there, adding that such action would go a long way in mitigating fraud in the country.
