9 years after, Bayelsa community gets new ruler

Agoloma Federated Community in Patani Local Government Area of Delta State was in jubilation as it officially crowned  a retired air force officer, High Chief Palmer Andrew Benaebi as its new Amananaowei.

The community has been without a monarch since the sudden death of King Alexander Atie, the then Pere of Kumbowei Kingdom, who also served as Amananaowei of Agoloma in 2013.

Performing the coronation, the Pere of Kumbowei Kingdom, Jackson Foubriowei Angalabiri (Egbain II), described the new monarch as a distinguished fellow, dogged and astute leader, as well as a problem solver.

He said the community had begun a new life that would witness prosperity in all spheres, adding that he was confident that the new Amananaowei would bring development to his people.

He advised the people to work with their new ruler to bring the needed peace and address issues that hindered the development of the community.

The community had waited for a new ruler for nine years since the death of the last ruler, King Atie in 2012.

The historic event featured cultural dance and a novelty football match.
